You can use a collectible search engine like Mavin.io to find comparable books that have sold recently and generate a price estimate. This is helpful because Mavin shows completed or sold listings… the actual selling price, not just what it was listed for.

Start with a Few Details

Start by entering a few specific details about the book. Enter the Title and Author.
Example: Harry Potter Philosopher’s Stone Rowling

Add or Remove Details

You may see multiple editions or different versions in the search results. You can narrow it down by adding words like First Edition, or the Publication Year.

You can remove results NOT like your book by using the negative sign before the keyword you want to filter out. For example, -Hardcover will remove all hardcover books from the estimated value.

Choose Comparables

You can narrow it down further by using the checkboxes to pick books that are exactly like yours. Click on the pictures to examine books that might be a match, then use the checkboxes to select those matches. This gives you the average value based on the comparables you picked.
